MiScore 'Extreme Weather'  Notification Feature

The new MiScore notifications feature will help ensure more members who are on-course are promptly notified during extreme weather conditions, such as lightning, fog, extreme heat, flooding, medical emergencies or dangerous high winds etc. Previously, the only way to alert players was through a loud siren and yellow strobe light, which did not reach everyone effectively.

With many members now using the MiScore App for scoring, this new notification feature will work alongside the existing siren and strobe light system to cater for non app users, enhancing our ability to communicate to a greater audience, weather alerts  quickly and efficiently.

For this feature to work, please go into the settings of your MiScore app and ensure that your notifications are turned on. This is essential for receiving timely updates during extreme weather events. If you require assistance with this please ask the Pro Shop staff.

Top of the Hill - Driving Range Putting Green Expanded

Members would have noticed over the weekend that the Driving Range Putting green area has been expanded toward the 10th Tee and the 18th Green, with a few Red flag putting.

This area is to be called 'Top of the Hill'.

Members are already asking questions about golf ruling when playing in competitions.

Please note the following:

  • Putting area with Red Flags is treated as part of the golf course (the same as fairways). If your ball lands on the surface, the ball can be played as it lies as you would on a fairway. Please fill your divot with sand as done on the fairway.
  • Golf Carts and Golf Buggies can be driven through this area, but we ask you to please steerqs clear the red flags.
  • The original raised putting green that was the old 9th Hole is still to be treated as a putting green.

Any questions please ask the Pro Shop staff for guidance. Please see below, a large scale version of a undulating putting green concept at St Andrews Golf Course in Scotland.

SES - Calling on Volunteers

We would like to thank the SES who came out on site to Stocks Drive last Sunday. We had a large tree branch come down from our boundary last Sunday which completely blocked Stocks Drive. The SES sent out 10 volunteers who arrive promptly and cleared it off the road. This is a great reminder of the great work the SES do for our community. If you are at all interested in volunteering to this great cause please read the below invitation.

Hey retirees and shift workers of Ranfurlie Golf Club! Looking for a rewarding way to spend your daytime hours? SES Cranbourne needs volunteers available during the day to help out in emergencies like floods and storms. If you've got free time during working hours, this is your chance to make a real impact in your community. No prior experience is required, we'll provide all the training and support you need. It's a great way to stay active, meet new people, and make a difference.

Ready to lend a hand? Contact Brian McMannis on 0418 330 751 or email us at:  cranbourne@ses.vic.gov.au
