Dear Member,

Driving Range Morning Closures

The club has decided to close the driving range every morning, including weekends, until 10 AM due to the recent wet weather.

This decision has not been made lightly with the following considerations.

  • Since Monday 75mm of rain has fallen, and with another 30mm more forecasted over the following days.
  • Our Driving Range patronage has increased month by month with June 2024 having  a 60% increase in driving range users from June 2023.
  • Add to this a steady increase in membership usage of the Driving Range over the past 12-18 months
  • While it is fantastic to see the Driving Range doing very well, this extra usage requires every effort to protect and preserve the driving range surface as much as possible and ensure a sufficient supply of range balls throughout the day.

The club is striving to better withstand extreme weather and minimize patronage impact by investing in an autonomous ball pickup machine, as well as scheduling further drainage works in the summer months. Year over year we should see drastic improvements."

In the short term, the club requests that Gold and Junior members only dispense the amount of balls you need each day and avoid taking large buckets to help preserve the daily supply. At this stage, the club does not want to install measures to restrict members on range ball limits and asks for an honesty system for members to please do the right thing during this time.

PLEASE NOTE: These temporary measures are in response to recent unprecedented weather conditions and will revert to full normal operation as soon as the ground is firm enough

Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated.

Weekend Bookings Slow Play

Due to the current limited daylight hours, we kindly ask everyone to keep pace with the group in front of them. If you find yourself falling behind, please allow the group behind you to play through. We all have off days, but it's crucial to keep moving to ensure the last groups can finish before dark.

Let's all make a concerted effort to get through the turn on time

3.30pm bookings and early afternoon walk In's

Members who book tee times from 3:30 PM onwards or simply just walk up around 2- 2.30pm onwards, are reminded of the following rules:

  1. Respecting Pro Shop Staff: Members are reminded not to pressure pro shop staff to allow them to start earlier if they see a gap in the schedule. The flow of the game is carefully managed, and any deviations can disrupt the entire field.

  2. No Jumping Ahead: This also applies to members who arrive early and attempt to start before their scheduled 3:30 PM tee time. Arriving early does not guarantee an early start, and members must adhere to their booked times.

  3. Disciplinary Measures: Members who are found regularly hassling pro shop staff to start earlier than their booked tee time may face disciplinary measures. It is crucial to maintain a respectful and orderly environment for all members and staff.

By following these guidelines, we can ensure an enjoyable and smooth golfing experience for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation.
