Scramble Results

In trying conditions our full field of competitors made the most of a very successful event at this year's Scramble! Congratulations to our club two teams going through to regionals:

1st Placed Team:

Peter Kane, Mark Halas, Cam Dinger & Renay Vincent with a handicap of 7 recorded the winning score of 55 nett.

2nd Placed Team:

Mitch Dickin, Casey Berner, Adam Cansdale & Doug Smith with a handicap of 9 recorded a nett score of 57 nett.

Men's Lockers

A reminder that new lockers will be installed in the Men's Locker Rooms in the first week of June. It's now time to remove your padlock and all contents from the old lockers. The deadline to remove belongings is this weekend. Early next week, any un attended to lockers lockers will have padlock and contents removed. Contents will be held for a period of time for collection on request.

Ranfurlie Cup Finalists

Congratulations to Josh Willuweit and Jarrod Donohue for making it to the Ranfurlie Cup Final which will be held this Saturday at midday.

Best of luck to all players and please clarify your shots prior to teeing off on the 1st tee.

Message from your Course Superintendent

Dear Members,

As winter approaches, I'd like to update you on our strategy for maintaining the quality of our greens during the colder months. Our goal is to ensure that we limit any decline of our turf densities throughout winter and are ready for optimal conditioning come spring. To achieve this, we will be implementing several measures to manage wear and reduce stress on the greens.

  1. Alternative Pin Positions: We will be utilising pin positions (weather permitting) that are less commonly used during other seasons. This approach will help distribute wear more evenly across the greens, allowing areas that are typically more stressed to recover. Pin positions cannot simply be "easy" or "tough", variety is required.
  2. Greens Preparation Adjustments: To limit the impact of heavy machinery on the greens, we will substitute regular mowing and rolling with dew removal whenever possible. This will reduce compaction and wear, preserving the health of the turf.
  3. Traffic Dispersion: We encourage all members to help us minimise concentrated foot traffic. Please use different routes across greens and their surrounds rather than sticking to narrow throughfares between greens and bunkers. This will help spread the wear more evenly and prevent damage to specific areas.

Your cooperation and understanding are essential in sustaining high standards for our greens.

Kings Birthday Open Event - Monday 10th June

Ranfurlie's annual 'Open Tournament' will once again be held on the King's Birthday Public Holiday, on Monday June 10th. This event will carry great prizes including novelty NTPs and Longest Drive challenges. The cost for members will be kept at just $15, with Lifestyle members paying this fee plus their normal 18 Hole Green fee. 

Members can also invite a guest for $65. All competitors will need an official Golf Handicap with the competition on the day being an Individual Stableford. 

The field will fill up fast so please contact the golf shop on 9788 8288 to make your booking. Payment at that time will be required to secure your booking.

Golf Premier League Begins - Saturday July 6

It's that time again with this very popular Winter Saturday event. It’s time to get serious and start chatting with your playing partners about forming teams and thinking of team names and who is to be the captain. AT A GLANCE: 

  • A great club team event getting all members involved in the fun, while playing your own individual competition week in week out.
  • Open to 7 Day members with only Saturday competition results counting towards matches. (E.G. if a Gold member plays on a Sunday not Saturday that Sunday score does not count) - I.E. Not available to silver or bronze members. 
  • Teams of 7 with a minimum of 6 compete against rival teams with an entry fee for the season of $50 per player payable in full at time of registering the team. 
  • Once signed up, there is nothing more the player needs to do. Weekly updates on results and a league ladder will be provided after each week with team banter and sledging expected. 
  • Season will run depending on the number of teams that enter being a maximum of 12 teams. 

At the end of the Home and Away the top teams will compete in the semi finals and grand final. Soon after a presentation/awards night will be held consisting of an AFL style a Brownlow type medal count an All Ranfurlie team announced and the winners of the season awards conducted.

Monday's Hole in One

Well done to member Lyn Hoey acing the 3rd hole on Monday in our Casual Competition! Although there is no prizes associated not being a main club competition day, we recognize her on her achievement by adding her name to the hole in one honour board.

Members in this situation can reactivate their account at any time by paying either online, or at the Ranfurlie Pro Shop or Sports Bar tills.
